DOT Announces Funding for Highway Technology Improvement

Eight states were selected based on a history of underfunding.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) announced the recipients of $52 million in grant funding from the Advanced Transportation Technology and Innovation program. Highway improvement projects proposed by eight states – Arizona, California, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, and Utah – have been selected to receive this investment.

These projects were chosen based on their use of technology-based solutions to improve highway functionality and their proximity to places that have historically lacked investment, such as rural areas and locations with persistent poverty.

“Your zip code shouldn’t determine whether you have access to safe, affordable transportation,” said Secretary Buttigieg. “With President Biden’s investments in innovative technology, we’re helping communities make transportation safer and more efficient, particularly in places that haven’t received enough resources in the past.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Buttigieg as he oversees the awarding of funding for transportation improvements.
  • For U.S. officials as investments are made into technology-based improvements for highways.
